HISTORY WORKS EXHIBITIONS PRESS STUDIO

1990's 2000 - Present

During the 1990's, Peter Mayer's graffiti dog series was the subject of two solo exhibitions. The presentations were held simultaneously in Manhattan at Charles Lucien Gallery on Broadway and Magidson Fine Art on Madison Ave. At that time, Lucien Gallery was focusing on artists who incorporated graffiti in their practices and had recently mounted solo exhibitions by both Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. Magidson, who was a dealer specializing in multiples, had in 1989 hosted a solo exhibition of works on canvas by Andy Warhol.
